My hands don't do too well in the cold, but I will run down to about -5 (wind chill maybe -30, but I'm spotty on wind chill).
Once it gets below 15, I just do a pair of magic gloves (dollar store or 7-11 or Walgreens, etc) as the base, and then what I think are these on top (https://m.uline.com/h5/r/www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-7891M/Warehouse-Gloves/String-Knit-Gloves-Mens).
My hands will sweat usually with this combo, especially in low wind, so I say give it a shot. The Uline-like gloves I have have lasted 4+ years (they were part of a race bundle).
You guys are all useless.
First of all, the "warmest running glove" would be a mitt, not a glove.
Second, with all this talk of 5F and -5F, and running in shorts with "the warmest running glove," it sounds like you have never experienced real cold in your lives.
For true cold, like -20F (not -5F which is barely winter where I am), you want snowboarding or snowmobiling mitts. Period. They will have a thick fleece liner and a shell that is impervious to any wind (because they are made for wind). Snowmobile gloves are designed for the hands being in a fixed position, in high wind, for hours.
