I knew Obiri was going to take this but I am impressed by Faith finishing only 4 seconds back considering Obiri beat her by almost 20 seconds about two weeks ago in Kenya. Give Faith another month and this order will be reversed. Given the top three broke or equalled the course record(18:56) set by Alice Aprot last year and given the exploits Aprot went on to have(Kenya National champion(beating Faith Kipyegon among others), African cross country champion and 4th at Olympics 10000 with time of 29:54), could this be a mirror of the results to expect at the 2017 Iaaf women World cross country championships in Uganda? All three of these women have expressed strong desire to compete at the world cross country. Add Alice Aprot who also will be keen to represent Kenya and that will be a deadly combination. Ethiopian lineup and the rest of the running world will have to really step up their game to stop Kenya from sweeping the top 4 places.

14 minutes in and Obiri is doing her best to drop Chepyegon. She certainly has moved up well from 1500. you are seeing here why she beat Ayana in Rio.
And 15 minutes in it looks like Obiri has done it and broken free.
Watching someone just hammer from the front is fun. I hope Mo Farah is watching this. This would be great practice on how to set a WR.
15:28 at 5k. Obiri has this.
