McColgan has been muttering some doubts about its validity which I think is in poor taste myself. Contrary to what the announcer said at the event there were in fact multiple entrants for a womens 5000m in the final start list (which I saved a copy of!). If I recall some athletes dropped out early.

Ran it tonight at the GAA Miler Meet in Glasgow. This places her 9th on the World all time list. On top of it she ran the vast majority of the race alone (as the rest of the field was running a 3000m race)...
I suspect the authorities will be accommodating - there were similar objections to some of Bubka's PV records I think.
