Yes, I meant mandatory registration. One subforum could remain as a free for all and have limited moderation.
Add a "like" button for comments?
How about a "masters of the race" feature that RT used to have. It did profiles of the training of top masters runners.
I understand that you need ads to run the site and make money. However, when these ads on the right side of the page cut off the words and prevent a full reading, it's a huge pain in the ass. Fix this glitch and fix it now.
A "dislike" button. "Like" buttons are elitist and should not be allowed.
More international coverage. Like where was coverage of the Japanese New Years ekiden?

The moderators shouldn't arbitrarily delete threads.
+1
And they shouldn't delete comments to change the direction a thread is taking.
And deletions, if absolutely necessary, should be consistent and explained. For example, delete the text of a comment, but not the whole comment, and then say in red in that comment "deleted because of inappropriate language" or "deleted because of an insult of an athlete" or "deleted because of a false rumor".

Letsrun is great as it is. Please do not add sub-forums or any crap for people who "just want to read running stuff". Keep the format as is. Like/upvote options are generally not a good idea.
Just keep all of Jamin's posts on the board.
It's like you don't know there is already sub-forums

I know right. People don't think it be like it is, but it do.
Make an area on the home page with all the recommended/great/good/must read articles listed, so the archive is readily available instead of the articles being lost after they fall off the homepage in a few days or buried in the week that was.

I think the sub-forums idea is dumb. The real gems are those "cute girl in the coffee shop studying MCAT" threads. Everyone goes here for training threads, but you get drawn to the random ones. Sub forums would ruin that element.
Agree.
I want 12 events covered that aren't usatf sanctioned that have nationally fast podiums.

I know about the highschool/gear/college/pro sub-forums, but I was reffering to the idea from someone else to categorize all threads and have no "home page" so to speak.
In 2017, I would like to see the following threads deleted:
The unofficial candidate debate discussion thread
Down goes the Dow
Did Mike Rossi (viral marathon dad) cheat his way into Boston?
Interesting. Many of us criticize you a good deal of the time, but after reading this thread, most of us also appreciate this site and what it provides, and can't offer too much for improvements.
My requests are:
Some separation so we can learn from coaches and other experts without sifting through jamin, etc to get there.
Yes, I know, there are sub-forums, but you could find a way to better separate actual running info.
A better connection to stream races. Form a partnership so we can just stream events through letsrun. I know the business model must work, but I'd watch running events 24/7 if it were offered. And I would pay for it (within reason, $5-$10 per event).
I like the AMA idea.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
