He brings a lot of that "hate" on himself

Galen destroyed the field in his last race. It was total domination:
The 80th Manchester Road Race in Connecticut was a great one.
Ben True edged Leonard Korir in a great finish on the men’s side as two time Olympic medallist Galen Rupp, who ran much of the race with his allergy/asthma mask on, was 10th.
Go Galen!

Expand.
Sub 60 is a cake walk for Galen

You realize that Rupp is one of the 15 fastest people in history over 10000m?
Realize he wasn't far from 15th in a recent turkey trot?
Who the fock is Hall?

Like to see Rupp go sub 59. Still won't quiet the haters though.
If he goes sub-59, it will silence the haters.
Well assuming it's done without someone rabbiting him for 12.5 miles of it.

The weather should be okay unless it is very windy or icy (unlikely). If Rupp was to target the AR he is likely to have a couple of Ethiopians to run with. The winning time 2 or 3 years back was 59:22 with, I believe another 59:xx recently.
"He ran 60:24 in 2016 (a time that was ratified despite LRs previous protests)"

THE COURSE WAS SHORTER THAN THE YEAR BEFORE. THERE WERE MAJOR CHANGES MADE. IT WAS NOT A VALID TIME! 1:02:30 at best.

Actually the forecast is looking pretty dicey at the moment for a record assault - upper 60s and windy.
Someone please confirm he is running. I'm in the sub elite wave and need to know if I will be sacrificing my race to take him out.
I would have loved to see Hall and Rupp both in their distance primes at the same time working off each other in races, if they ran the Houston half together both would probably be 59 low
I agree, but he will already be peaking for Boston, which is in the spring.

Because no one ever successfully runs a good half marathon 3 months out from a good marathon...
Cool.how many 4:33 miles do you think you can string together for our old friend, Rupp?my bet is less than 1.00

Solid bet. Somewhere in the region of .9 - 1.2 miles depending on headwind/tailwind.

Interestingly, the 28:07 from Stanford in 2007 is Hall's 10K PR.

Exactly.
Ryan Hall is READY TO RUMBLE.
Ryan is now much stronger than Galen:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BNpJDTmgHLz/http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/2012/04/protein-drinks/index.htmThe samples of Muscle Milk Chocolate powder we tested contained all four heavy metals, and levels of three metals in the product were among the highest of all in our tests. Average cadmium levels of 5.6 µg in three daily servings slightly exceeded the USP limit of 5 µg per day, and the average lead level of 13.5 µg also topped the USP limit of 10 µg per day. The average arsenic level of 12.2 µg was approaching the USP limit of 15 µg per day, and the average for mercury was 0.7 µg, well below the USP's 15 µg-per-day limit. Three daily servings of Muscle Milk Vanilla Crème contained 12.2 µg of lead, exceeding lead limits, and 11.2 µg of arsenic. A fourth product, Muscle Milk Nutritional Shake Chocolate (liquid), provided an average of 14.3 µg of arsenic per day from three servings, approaching the proposed USP limit.
Unfortunately, Ryan has brain damage from drinking a lot of Muscle Milk with high levels of lead.
This is why Ryan got lost in the woods during his last half-marathon race.
60:45 if conditions are ideal
