Human understanding of physics is incredibly primitive. More advanced aliens would visit all the time, if they had any interest in this planet. We have nothing for advanced aliens to take. Small planet, a few rocks, some water. There are much bigger rocky planets, much bigger watery planets, much bigger gas planets. Much bigger stars with more interesting shit around them.

How exactly did they try to hide it? And don't refer to their explanation that it is a rock, that's not trying to hide it. And referencing a "news" article that claims they tried to hide it without also giving specifics of how they tried to hide it isn't proof either,

I scoff at your weak understanding of what physics is about. You don't "understand" physics, rather physics is your attempt to understand reality.

Don't mistake sophistication for accuracy. The positing of "dark matter" happened because physicists failed to explain gravity. They can't explain dark matter either, but it's a trick they're used to getting away with.

And to the inevitable sophomoric egghead who objects that gravity is well understood, its failure on the very large scale is as bad as classical mechanics' failure in orbital predictions - i.e., it ain't horseshoes or hand grenades, almost isn't good enough. Wrong is wrong, and dark matter is but a prayer for it not to be.
