Trying to snack on high protein low carb foods… Beef jerky seems like the perfect snack.
Beef jerky is so expensive! Where is the best place to buy? Even Sam's Club is very expensive…

Have you considered making it yourself? My wife makes it and it is great. It is not that hard to make and is pretty inexpensive.

The beef My wife uses only cost about $5 for quite a bit. It makes a ton of jerky. She is not around so I can't ask her but I found this one. I am not sure what kind of meat she uses but she will mix all the meat into the marinade and let it sit over night. Then she puts in the oven at 450, I think. But here is one I found and looks a bit similar:
3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 3/4 cup soy sauce 1 tablespoon smoked paprika, or to taste 1 tablespoon honey, or more to taste 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon onion powder 2 pounds beef top round, thinly sliced Add all ingredients to list

Whisk Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, paprika, honey, black pepper, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion powder together in a bowl. Add beef to bowl and turn to coat beef completely. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator, 3 hours to overnight.
Preheat oven to 175 degrees F (80 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack over the foil.
Transfer beef to paper towels to dry. Discard marinade. Arrange beef slices in a single layer on the prepared wire rack on the baking sheet.
Bake beef in the preheated oven until dry and leathery, 3 to 4 hours. Cut with scissors into bite-size pieces.
So it is just done in the oven? I thought you had to use some fancy dehydrating machine...
I will look into it. Thanks again :-)
Yes. Just cook in oven. But she cooks at a higher temp than that recipe. But you really can't over cook it.

Ever try making your own opossum jerky from roadkill?
Cheap, delicious and classy AF.
In my area, Walmart has the cheapest.
Sometimes I cook jerky myself to save money. And I don't always allow myself to buy expensive products. Well, I have a dehydrator that does all the work for me. I just need to cut the meat into slices, add spices, and set the time and temperature on the dehydrator. But I admit that I still don't cook as delicious as bigwig does. https://www.bigwigjerky.com.au Moreover, they have different tastes, my favorite is original and teriyaki, and yours?

I tried them, I also liked them, but they are too few in the pack and I think it's expensive.
My wife makes jerky in a dehydrator using different spices that we take on iherb, it's soooo delicious that I don't know anything tastier than this.
Store bought tends to be loaded with preservatives or as expensive as gold.
Making your own is better. You don't have to go as crazy with all the extras in your marinade. Remember it was originally just dried and barely cooked at all over a smoky fire.
Many recipes call for the lowest temp you can get your oven at and leaving it overnight.
Yo that is some high maintenance stuff you guys do. We just go to Costco or Walmart or target
Try turkey jerky.
Tastes good, low in fat, and it rimes. Fun to eat, and fun to say.
Gobble gobble.
