I think the real reason he is here is to secretly troll Steve Magness.

Has he made 10,000 posts yet?
Who cares? The guy is overrated. A psuedo-intellectual.
Gladwell does not troll letsrun; he comes here to get his book ideas.
I am going to post as Malcolm Gladwell for 10,000 hours, at which point I will BECOME Malcolm Gladwell! See you in 10,000 hours, bitches!

Then what happens to the preexisting Malcolm? Or will one be David Malcolm Gladwell and the other Goliath Gladwell? I fear this could be a tipping point to a heretofore un-encountered outlying state.
The world shudders with eerie expectations.
On Tim Ferris' podcast, he interviewed Malcolm Gladwell, and MG said LetsRun was one of three websites he checks every morning.

That isn't true because both hate the NOP.

This was suggested on another thread today. True?
The thought of a famous best selling author having trolled me (or dare I say I trolled him!) is quite amusing.
Yeah, but the level he writes at is perfect for LRC. I would believe he perfected his style here before forming his tripe into books. He really honed in on how to aim at the lowest common denominator.

Rupp is his favorite runner though

I am reasonably certain one can pinpoint the moment when the reasoning in his writing began to decline to the month he began reading the LetsRun message boards.
Ha!

Yeah, Gladwell likes Alberto and has good access to him and team for a flattering New Yorker piece, right? I think he's even on record saying he doesn't believe the doping accusations against Al. Certainly not anti-NOP.
Agreed...totally overrated. It's so easy to pick apart his writing.
Yes,overrated. I enjoyed his books but the follow up criticism knocked down many of his theories.
Also, people make a big deal of his running, but he quit when he was 16 despite being quite talented.
His mother is Jamaican, so he has good running genes.
Sorry, Mal.
Ok. This is the real Malcolm here. First off, words cannot describe how flattered I am to finally be the subject of a letsrun message board! I only object to the description of my running as over-rated. 4:05 1500m at 14, and 4:54 mile at 51 isn't bad, especially if you ignore the fact that I did absolutely nothing inbetween. Merry Christmas everyone.

in-between
Why would a great author like gladwell waste his time with a lowly message board about a hobby.
Gladwell has posted here in the past. He has a registered username.
