Rump will never break 2:05. And every sane person knows a 50% fit bekele beats a 100 percent fit Rupp. Just pray a less than 50% bekele to show up like 2012 to have Rupp a shot to beat bekele when they meet next time
People have been saying "Rupp will never" for a long time and he has disproved them. Just saying.
It's very obvious why Rupp is racing Boston as opposed to London: Boston is "America's Marathon." It's the same reason he came out and ran the Manchester Road Race, to get him more exposure in the US and ride the tide from his Olympic medal. This is the opportune time to get him in the media, get him TV time, etc.
Good luck to him, I hope he crushes it

This.
This.
"Rupp will never medal in the 10k."
"Rupp will never have any American Records."
"Rupp will never run a marathon."
"Rupp will never make the marathon team."
"Rupp will never medal in the marathon."
I predict Rupp will do very well at Boston. He is a bona fide stud.

You're right, but I think binoculars would be even more appropriate. Telescopes are for peeping toms and astronomers.
And pirates.
I hope does well and win.

Bunch of frigging haters, I am racing Boston and glad he will be there even if he's finishing a hour ahead of me.
Are you really..."racing"...if you are finishing an hour behind the top guys?
The LRC staff goes back and forth about Rupp's Boston debut here:
The Rupp bashing is very tiresome.
I'm glad he's running as he is competitive and almost always does his best. A few years back he ran an indoor 800 and people shit on him before it (he was an Olympic medalist by that time) and I thought it was cool that the best American 10k runner would run an 8. Now he's run really well in 2 marathons and wants a go at Boston. Why would anyone not want him to do so?

Some people will never forgive him for looking goofy and being socially awkward.

When did Rupp break 2:05? Just asking.

Positively. Me against myself and the clock.
Why will you be up there ?

Who the hell uses a telescope to peep girls changing in their bedrooms?! Are these women on the moon?!
Rojo is right about Nike taking away Kipchoge to "run" the 2-hour marathon.
Will Rupp wear his ADIDAS Boston jacket everywhere after the race?
What will be the proverbial hat exchange of this race? You know Salazar has to come up with some ridiculous borderline-cheating idea for everything. Maybe it will be something with a drone that will spritz Rupp with water or drop off GU packs or more hats. There are no rules against personal drones right?
Alberto, I'm an engineer, hit me up and I'll make this happen. You're welcome.
London is a time trial.
Boston is a race.
Rupp is an excellent racer.

They say there's no such thing as a dumb question. Apparently they didn't see yours. Just sayin.

But they could never be in the same picture. Count Dooku was killed by Darth Vader pre-Dearth Vader, and Darth Maul has been dead since Mary Cain was fast.
Contrary to most, I'm not surprised by Galen's decision to run the Boston marathon. He has already proved that he is a very good marathoner in championship-style races, and his coach, Alberto Salazar, knows very well the course. (Galen was also a good XC runner; it could help him with the hills in Boston. )
My guess is that Galen will run Boston and still do some track races this summer. He will skip the fall marathon season and will come back for a spring marathon (probably London). After that, he will likely focus on the marathon for the rest of his career
