I really, really hope this isn't it.
Not only is it even more of a marketing gimmick than trying to find perfect conditions and perfect pacers on a non-eligible course, but I fear this could lead to injury for the world's greatest marathoner.
Please no!
could be a post sub2 project market in basketball for this ridiculousness
Heard it from a sales rep at a store "top secret" or some stuff. I'm sure, since he was telling running store people. $300 road flat

The $300 road flat is the shoe that rupp and Kipchoge were wearing in rio. Not the same thing.
Guy was talking about the new shoe that is coming out in late spring - $300, with the spring/carbon fiber thing in it
To think, all this time the only reason humanity has failed to achieve a sub 2 marathon is because no one bothered to try running in an addidas springblade equivalent, what a shame.
Does anyone know if it is true that Galen, Shalane and Amy wore these shoes at the Olympic marathon trials? I heard they did and I also heard that these shoes will take 4 to 5 minutes off your best time according to lab testing.
So you're telling me with your average everyday running shoe Kipchoge is running 2:08 and Rupp is running 2:15? GTFO of here.

I was given a pair of the original yellow Spiras the year they were used at Boston by a few Kenyans. I found they did absolutely nothing to improve my running or race times, and in fact the springs took to time at all to wear through the sole and fall out.
Once they did, I took a look at them and they were far too flimsy and delicate to be able to return energy in they way they were supposed to. They were along the same thickness and strength as the Slinky toy spring from the 70s, just (obviously) a smaller diameter coil. I remember thinking the technology would likely work if the springs were a lot more solid.

He new shoe has carbon, but not a spring. It is expensive though.
