Thanks for this summary. More jumps jobs and somewhat fewer throws jobs than I expected.

Utah is filled.
Does anyone ever announce over the weekends? When will the big positions finally be filled?
Forgot Weber State-Head Coach
Someone mentioned Portland State HC. Checked the site. His bio is gone from the staff page, but there is no listing on the school HR/Employment site. All the current assistants are still listed.

True. Silly hire. His 39th school (slight exaggeration).
Paul Spangler has changed his Facebook profile picture to USATF. Did he change his mind to take a job with them instead?
I'd say doubtful since he still has Boston University Track Coach in his twitter bio and on his Instagram page, but I guess it's possible. Who knows? Would be a big blow for BU after making a pretty good hire
I'm quite frankly amazed that it took this long into this thread for someone to call out Trisha Steidl (and to a lesser extent Uli) for advancing her own running career at the expense of her athletes. I've always felt that if you're too concerned about your own running, that it shows in the quality of coaching you give your athletes.
How soon SeattleU can close the gap on Seattle Pacific as the second best college track program in the city remains to be seen. I feel that it's unacceptable for a program not to qualify an athlete into the NCAA finals at least once every five years.
If the Steidls were supposedly decent distance coaches, why couldn't they get an individual into the D1 championships in track or XC? Even Eastern Washington, which doesn't emphasize distance runners as much has qualified individuals for the NCAAs!

The Steidls must have really fu#$ed you over at some point. You have a serious hard-on for them. It's not that easy to qualify someone to the NCAA meet, unless you mean the first round.
What individuals did Eastern Washington get to NCAAs?

If you are just counting NCAA Final rounds or championship-
Sarah Reiter - twice in XC (out of the west region no less) 2015, 2016
Catie Arrigoni - steeple 2015
If you are counting the first round (regionals)-
Katie Mahoney-Steeple 2014, 2015, 2016
Paula Gil-Echevarria 2014, 2015
Sarah Reiter - 5k/10k 2014, 2015, 2016
Kaili Keefe (fr)-1500 2016
Obviously women are fully funded. Men do ok to

Hofstra assistant XC

Maybe I came across wrong. I have assistants who are way smarter than me and usually better coaches too. I have no desire to control them. That said, there's no argument that the Director has to make some decisions. There are going to be disagreements, not often, but sometimes, and when they happen, an assistant has to understand that it's the HC job to make the call. How is that being a douche bag? I'm proud to say that 37 of my former assistants are head coaches now or have been head coaches, I'm not here to stifle anyone. But if an assistant starts causing issues or bad mouthing the HC every time he doesn't like a decision, what's the HC supposed to do?
I'm not saying that's the case with Barreau, but it sounds like he and the HC had issues. That's the story from just about everyone. That's not a good situation to put yourself in. If the head coach says something in front of the team, an assistant should support it in public and raise concerns in private. Athletes should not be privied to those conversations/disagreements. Clearly in this case they were, which is why they're all now badmouthing whoever the HC is.
