dumble would do a great job.
dumble would do a great job.
Not sure that's why it will be a suprise!
Drake has years of experience coaching distance runners and would help distance program get back on track. Favorite for position.
Shayla has done really well with Cal men and women Distance runners and could especially be a top candidate if they want a woman to lead all woman's program. Probably not enough experience to get this job though. Long shot.
Hoyt has had success as a head D2 coach at Seattle Pacific, coached Olympian Sharon Day and has had numerous All Americans and conference champions while at Cal Poly and Ucla. For all field eventers, this would be great hire and probably the best hire to get them competitive in PAC 12.
Dumble would also do well leading entire program. Dumble will undoubtedly be hired on as throws coach regardless of who gets position. Hoyt and Dumble would be a great duo. Add quality distance coach and that's a hell of a staff.
Are you saying you know these are the candidates, or are these your best guesses?
whats with all the greg jack rumors at v tech?

Isn't there a title 9 issue with adding a men's program at OSU? Or is it a funding issue? Seems like they could get some half decent in state guys even without many scholarships.
I've heard that it is a funding issue. The program need to establish a large endowment to pay for scholarships.
Why does there needs to be a mens team to have womens success? Do not make excuses for kelly's failures

Dave Dumble (if he wants it)
This is all pure speculation. I know for a fact that many of these people haven't even been contacted.
By 'many' do you mean one or two of them? There were only 4 listed and certainly Dumble is getting an interview if he wants it. I think Ian Solof from Portland could be the 'surprise candidate.' He has certainly been on fire the last couple of years and has lead an all women's program for 10+ years...
To really compete at PAC 12's they need to focus on field events however...
Not so fast on JD, unless OSU can also entice his wife with a pretty good job. That's why he left Washington State for UW in the first place--it was a career move on his wife's part.
What is the status of Greg Metcaff?
His job has got to be on the line; an opening for Drake perhaps?
Mike Curcio to Elon, App Distance is Open
Hawaii is posted. Just remember being on an island has its drawbacks.
What's the news on UCLA. Do they bring back an Alum to head the program or look elsewhere?
Oregon Multis Coach officially is not returning? Is he going to A&M?

While it's no secret App State's Curcio applies for almost any vacant job, App State assistant to Elon assistant is a severe step down.
What does he have to gain in this position?
False. Not a candidate.

Can't hear anymore about D2 and the like. Florida distance finalists (in rank order to me) are Vanhoy, Khadevis, Vig, Gary, and Dunn.
What is the word on the Florida position? Is Spangler leaving or is this an assistant job to him on the distance side?

Someone mentioned a week or two ago that he is going to Boston. Hard to take rumors serious on an anonymous forum...
