Why does it matter if the experience is paid or not? Experience is experience.

He's clearly posting about himself here.

Hi Roger. If you don't know why it matters, then you shouldn't be in this coaching topic.
Anyone know why Oregon State University just reposted the Director position as "Interim Director" for a one year stint? Are they trying to promote Dumble, without dealing with all the outside real applications coming in?
Wow, that really sucks for hiring a distance coach with no guarantee that they will get to stick around after 1 year. But this is a program that can't get out of its own way so no surprise really. They seem afraid to actually seek top candidates.
Actually, both job descriptions are up. Anyone know why?

I heard the same thing. Headed South.
Might have already been posted, but I came across it and didn't see it in the thread. My bad if already been mentioned. No clue about the school, but the pay looks solid.

I think you're the one that should vacate yourself from the topic, because you clearly have no experience in it.
While some schools vary, most power 5s give the vol. assistant plenty of responsibility. Of course it's not the same as what we have, but it's valid to consider time spent as a VA essential experience.

Way late to the party. Check my riddle/clue on page 36.
The rest of the Big Ten will be excited if this is the model they choose (3 distance coaches). Illinois is a hotbed of high school talent across the board in all events. Having 3 coaches in the same area will limit the program in other events.

haveman was the HC/distance coach at dayton and jake Shaver was the assistant distance coach at Illinois state. Both are going to illinois which already has Jake stewart. 3 distance coaches to go with the HC Mike Turk (throws), adrian wheately (sprints/hurdles/jumps), and randy gillon (sprints/hurdles/multis).
wonder where scott jones ends up?
A self-pointed doer of justice... hmmm.... A Vigilante? As in Jason Vigilante?
chomp chomp
i am curious as to what multiple distance coaches actually do? always seemed like too many cooks in the kitchen to me.
Maybe:
1. Training
2. Recruiting
3. Grunt work?
I thought the one guy (shaver) was hired to be director ops? won't be coaching distance runners if that's the case.

that makes alot more sense. so jake stewart will probly continue to coach the mens distance runners and haveman the women with shaver as DO. DO seems like a better fit for shaver anyways
American University Head Coach
Someone on another thread said Vig to Florida?? Hard to believe he's looking to move again, but could be huge for the UF distance program.
