False
Confirmed in Austin and Lexington:
Floreal to Texas
Robert Johnson to UCLA
Dave Smith to Oregon
Lonnie Greene to Kentucky
Purdue and Okie State will be looking all summer!
Why would Robert Johnson leave?? He has it rolling at Oregon, all the resources he needs, and it's easier to get kids into Oregon than UCLA.
He's not leaving.
Robert Johnson is a speed and power event coach. He needs hot, sunny weather to thrive. Eugene is cold and wet... perfect for distance. He's done very well there, but he's not in his optimum environment. However... UCLA???? It's a sticky job compared to most. Granted, Oregon is also sticky, but Oregon has money and low admission rates.
They have indoor areas they use, he's clearly getting it done at Oregon.
Dave Smith to Oregon? Don't buy it.
Is the Florida distance position open?
I could see Robert Johnson going to Kentucky if Floreal gets the Texas job.
Though RJ did coach at UCLA and he is a sprints/jumps specialist, I can't see him going there, Besides, UCLA is going to Under Armour next year and I'm sure that he gets a pretty nice chunk of pocket money from Uncle Phil on top of his Oregon salary.
Now that Boogie dude who's at Northridge who can coach the hell out of hurdlers to UCLA? I could see him going to Westwood.

Yes but they already have a candidate in mind
University of Hawaii has a volunteer spot open
At what D-1 athletics program does a "volunteer coach" get their own article in the press (other than at Univ of Tennessee)?
Probably the fact that he's been volunteering there for 14 yrs and might have something to do with it

How much better would NCAA coaches be if salaries were $150K - 600K?
Alabama next domino to fall. Just saw Dan Waters having lunch with UK AD Mitch Barnhart here in Lexington! SEC all shook up
Eastern Washington has a post for Jumps/Multi. Not really trying to advertise much...
Looks like the first big SEC opening since TAMU is up and running....

Yes, he is a great coach. You'll love him. LSU will have a lot of success under him.
Dear Coach Meaders,
Please bring back Vanhoy.
Thank you,

Sorry Boogie, but you had your chance at being a head coach and it was a total flop!
What is happening with the Florida State Head job? Did someone already say?
