There has been a lot of talk about who would take over at Texas. Some pretty big names have been thrown out there
Quick google news search shows nothing of a termination.
No updates since rojo posted the conduct probe news.

There is your answer. They hired locally, poached one of Matt's assistants from Willamette University down the road. It's not rocket science. They needed someone in a hurry who knows the state, and is local because they sure weren't paying any relocation expenses. Boom, done!

Actually this is wrong. He's got strong ties to the area but will be coming from a long way away.
Agreed the Portland state hire is not coming from nearby. Not even close.
So is Mario out? Must've messed up big-time!
mario is not out yet but will be in time
Who is the person then?
You're so knowledgeable, prove it.
My guess, Connor Holt!
I hear that Mississippi Valley is looking for an assistant coach for the sprints/jumps.
Their original posting was for someone to assist with field events (throws, jumps and pole vault). So unless they replaced the head coach who worked with all the running events primarily, I doubt they want somebody to work with those groups. But maybe he's decided to scrap the field event areas lol
Columbia is conducting interviews now.
Heard through the grapevine Illinois distance opening will go to a women.
Drake University head T&F coach position, jumps coach, and potentially another sprints coach is still open. Not sure if they will just wait until June to start searching, but I know they said they might consider opening the search again between the fall and spring semesters.
University of Texas-Arlington looking for a throws coach
University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (D1) seeks throws coach
lots of women moving around. Seems that more than ever throws are being pushed into the female category. UTRGVU-> UTA, TX state fired then Lisa to tx state, now what female takes uconn and what female take utrgvu.
These colleges looking to hire just women for a type of position is breaking Title IX.
"No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance."
Throws would appear to be UTRGVs strongest event group. Would a qualified male applicant stand a chance, given it is a mid year hire in the southernmost tip of the country...especially if the female applicants were underwhelming?
I couldn't fit the whole "Dumb and Dumber" reference in the handel.
