Sent out a weird tweet this morning after the Brooks beer mile shoes were revealed. Anybody know what happened and why a company with maybe 3 other athletes like saucony would drop him?

Fastest miler in Ohio has to mean something.
Just business. Nate made the final for the first time and finished near the back. That's not likely to improve much at this point.
Beer mile contracts are rewarded to the best at that.

Not by much. Colby Alexander is from Strongsville, Ohio and is right on his butt PR to PR. Brannen 3:34.22 to Colby at 3:34.88. Also Colby is a lot younger and likely to continue to improve for the foreseeable future.
Not saying who is better. Brannen is an Olympic finalist. Just commenting on the fastest Ohio milers.
There are a number of really fast milers from Ohio. All have PR's slower than Brannen tho except for Alexander who is about the same 1500-wise. Colby, Jeff See, Corey Leslie, Brannon Kidder, Clayton Murphy, Sam Prakel just off the top of my head are all from Ohio. But, other than Murphy, Nate is the only one living in Ohio year round at the moment so Brannen is the fastest Ohioan right now!

I'm disappointed in Brannen's reaction.
He should have thanked his sponsor that supported him, which allowed him to become an Olympic finalist
Why would I (a company) sponsor an athlete?
The guy would need to have star power (read Bolt) or be active in social media and provide honest expert opinions about my product. He would need to have a significant amount of followers. Did Nate do/have that? If he did and still got dropped, then I'm sure somebody else would have come to replace his current sponsor. However, after his most recent tweet, he simply sounds like an entitled as$ h@le. I doubt that someone else will feel like stepping in.
Brannen handled this wrong. If he could run a 4:30-something beer mile, he could make the complaint. But he can't. In this day and age, no one cares about a has been Canadian miler to the tune of a decent wage. Don't be a hater, Nate. Hold strong and go work for a shoe company in Canada, or run for another brand, or Saucony, for less. He's not selling $70k shoes per year as a pro, and that's real, bottom line, 2017 truth.
Beer miling and trail ultras are where it's at today. Trackmeeting is obsolete.
Nate tweets about Saucony maybe 6x a year!

. . .
He thanked Saucony "for seven years together" in his previous tweet.
Apparently y'all dummies missed this tweet from December 9th...
"Last race with @SauconyRacing tomorrow in the Merrie Mile. Thanks for 7 years together. Bring on 2017!!! @saucony #honolulumarathon"

^truth. Beer mile and trail ultras will be added to the Olympics. You heard it hear first.
I can't believe this guy had a sponsorship and was even still running. Big failure for a hs phenom. Thought he might be selling used cars in Winnipeg.
I hate to say it, but I agree with above posters -- top beer miler is way more interesting/marketable than a 34 y/o who finished at the back of a final. I have a pretty good sense of what Brannen does to optimize his performance and wouldn't learn much from his endorsement of a particular shoe. But if a top beer miler endorses a piece of equipment (particularly a beer!) I 've learned a lot.
My beer mile PB is 26:30, FWIW.
Maybe he's just making a joke of the situation.

Sue, that must be it.

Brannen sucks anyways. He has never even made the final at a worlds or olympics. He needs a real job so he can pay his bills.
