Speaking generally, you may be correct, but then again, I don't know many of those kinds of people. I am an ex-runner-turned-bodybuilder. I took running fairly serious--mid-15 5k/sub 4:20 mile in high school and ran NCAA D1 for a year--and have the same mindset with lifting weights. I stopped running at age 20 and have been lifting hard since. I am 29 now: bench and squat both around 300 on any given day to give you all an idea.
Not all of us are gym bros who pose like narcissistic fools. I do not have any social media, and only twice ever have I put up facebook selfies of my "gains"--about 40 lbs. I bodybuild for my own health, well-being, and to continue an all-around healthy lifestyle. Nor do I take any other supplement other than whey and casein.
I do believe I am healthier now, largely because bodybuilding forces me to eat much leaner, as I do not burn as many calories in the gym versus running 10 miles.
