Those of you who have not traveled to Kenya may not know how truly nuts driving is there. There is little education about how to drive safely, and the road infrastructure is a farce. If you follow Kenyan running you will be able to tally the number of elite runners who have been maimed or killed in road crashes. It gets to be quite depressing. The next time you are frustrated to be waiting at a red light, be thankful that you live somewhere that at least attempts to reduce death on the roads.

From what the article describes, it seems like he was rear-ended by another car such that his car was driven into a tanker.
Kenyan roads are so dangerous that just a day after this accident involving Kipchoge, another big accident occurs on the same road at almost exact spot and involving a tanker and at least 10 cars with more than 30 people already confirmed dead. Currently identities of those dead have not been established. I am sure Kipchoge is counting himself blessed
