Long run finished and wife and kid out of town. I'm too old for blow and hookers these days so I'd like to kick back and read some classics threads today.
Discus.

About to go for the Kip Litton thread!!!
The "Robby Andrews shouldn't have been DQed" thread is pretty great
Imagine you're a day after a KILLER workout, and then the day after you run into some familiar faces on a trail. You don't notice each tree per se (2, 4, 5, etc.), but you keep with the group just to be with them. You can see them way ahead of you, and you're struggling to keep up, meanwhile your watch is telling you that you are going like 10 minute mile pace. You try to push the pace in the hopes they'll speed up, but you just can't reach the guy at the back -- he's just too far ahead.

I gotta find this one. A plus
I will be honest: I never found that post or that thread all that amusing. It was like folks were arguing over something said 1. in jest, or 2. by a special needs individual.
Not for me.
My favorite thread of all time is actually on slowtwitch: It is called T3 or something like that... it is a real-time soap opera. Epic in every sense of the word. You will laugh, you will cry, you will cringe. Do NOT read ahead; just take it post by post. There are at least 3 HUGE plot twists.
Crap, let me just find it for ya.
The greatest ever thread was called something like:
Treadmill World Record Attempt Falls 20 Minutes Short
But I think it got deleted. Maybe beg Rojo to re-instate it.

I'll check this out! They had a good one about that dude that supposedly punched the Mom in a triathlon. Will find and thanks.
Powerpoint thread circa 2004
The one about clowns.
The best thread ever was the original sleuthing thread on the Elite Training Group website and publications by their coach Marshall Burt. Imagine the intense research done by posters on race cheaters, but with a topic one million times more rich with insane humor.
I don't believe that thread exists anymore, sadly.
This is one of my faves

The one where Stick has a crush on a girl in a coffee shop is also good
