He needs to slow down a bit. He is running crazy-like and could collide with one of the Trail Walkers. Very irresponsible to put others at risk like that.

Remind me never to do a trail race with a steep out-and-back like that. Its NUTS! How the camera guy follows without breaking something is beyond me.Here the women's second-place takes a fall:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2q35wn7yWm0The women's winner is a skiier who did her first trail race two weeks before. Watch how she passes the guy at 1:00:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7GLu6L_SAATotal badass babe!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02aoXqFEFMk

Very impressive.
Oh yea baby.
In conclusion:
1) Sylvia Nordskar is the best thing to ever happen in trail running.
2) Ryan Hall has brain damage from drinking too much MUSCLE MILK contaminated with high levels of lead, cadmium, and arsenic.
Go Sylvia Nordskar.

In a 50 mile tnf was competitive but those guys are not world class by any means as nick gray and smythe, especially sub ultra. The top 2 guys at tnf have raced gray and smythe numerous times and correct me if I'm wrong but they both crushed zach and hayden each time. The day those guys at the Hawaii race decide to do 50s, the talent level will rise drastically at tnf. Just sayin.
Sage beat Gray at the National trail marathon championships and Zach and Hayden dropped Sage at tnf 50.
Gray got beat by 15 minutes by Zach Ornelas at Caumsett 50k in 2015.
At the Whiteface Skyrace in NY, in 2015 he was 4th, 12 minutes behind the winner.
At the Flagstaff Skyrace he was 2nd in 2015 and won in 2016 edging 19 year old Tayte Pollman by 3 seconds.
At distances UNDER 2 hours he is virtually unbeatable on the trails.
Based on these results, I would say he would have a very difficult time staying with Zach and Hayden at TNF 50.

I'm a fan of Ryan Hall, but I think he looks weird. The muscle on his biceps and shoulders looks bloated, especially compared to his skinny forearms. As a pro runner, he was forcing his body to be slimmer than it naturally wanted to be, now he has forced his body to be more bloated than it wants to be. Like I said, I'm a fan of Ryan, but moderation was never something he could grasp.
Genetics. He in no way looks bloated. Probably does a lot of curls.

I looked up some more results for ya.
Gray also beat the same guys who beat him far more.
I know Sage won the marathon but to be honest the guy did have a huge welt on his leg most pics show from the race which the irunfar article mentioned he injured before the race. He raced sage at Mt Washington 2013 and 2014 and crushed him by minutes in a race less than an hour so I'd say it safe to assume gray was in fact hurt in that marathon? Not sure what happened at caumsett as that was a shit show for him.
I do know that the guy who beat gray at white face also lost to gray by over 10 mins at two other European races and then lost to gray again at the rut skyrace.
Also you bring up hayden and Zach beating sage as if that means they could compete with gray in his specialty distances? Not valid, sage had a bad race obviously but also zach and hayden haven't been close to gray at all in anything honestly.
Just playing devils advocate as I believe gray doesn't get the respect he has earned. Nobody is unbeatable but give the guy a break
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
