mile 37, Sage out of contention, seems he forgot you're supposed run relaxed in the first 2/3 of the race

Who's gonna win this thing??
1. Zach Miller
2. Hayden Hawks
3. David Laney
My money is on.....Hawks. 50 mile debut and a massive W
Sage is already finished. Nothing new.
Zach Miller ahead of Hayden Hawks 24 seconds with 9.2 miles to go. That includes a 1,000 ft climb and a 750 ft climb!!
saw the video, zach looked better than hawk, my prediction hawk falls back to 4th
Laney in 3rd 12:15 back. Running exact pace as Zach the last 8.8 miles.
Guess Sage went out too fast or the leaders went out fast intentionally to dump him and now just holding on.

Zach looked super strong in that video. I don't think anyone catches him.
I do think Hawks will hold on for 3rd, Laney will run a strong final 10 for 2nd. He has been super smart about racing and closing (with WS 100 being the one exception). But I don't think he has enough ground to bring back Miller's lead.
Super fun racing to follow, though.
Expect another exciting vlog from him saying: another time, next time, just learning from the past, etc.
And the women's race is just as tight. Kimmel looks better in the lead, but Ida is so strong and has serious speed (NAU standout in XC and steeple) and is only a minute back.

Zach goes out fast every race. He's blown up a couple times but has some epic wins.
Zach has now put another 30 seconds on Hayden and is up 55 seconds.

And yet you keep watching them.
Here is one for your enjoyment.

I thought by posting that video he was mocking him? Never watched one before, couldn't watch that one. So embarrassing. Are you sure he wasn't making fun of Sage by posting that crap? So bad.
How much ground can Laney potentially make in the last 9 miles? Hopefully he hasn't pushed too early. He's 5 min off the 2nd place runner but 9 miles to go is plenty enough to bonk in a 50. Hopefully he can maintain and cruise to some cash money still in third. He must need it this winter.
Hayden should hold 2nd. Last I saw Laney was something like 15' behind...
yeah, maybe, if so i apologize. just tired and embarrassed with this dude.
Zach with less than 3 downhill miles to go!!
5:40 through 46.7 miles.
Looks like just a minute separating the top 2 still. Very impressed with Hayden here
