love seeing derrick on the broadcast, he has always struck me as one of the most well-spoken and intelligent individuals when conducting interviews, so that should carry over to the broadcast. Also with his alma mater in NV being one of the main title contenders, he should have some insight there as well.
Ok I was out and watching the broadcast on my phone. A few thoughts about it and the race.
1) While the broadcast was high quality, it amazes me the people in charge of production even at an event like this don't know their audience. Why are they showing the women in the finish when the race is still going on.
If I ever broadcast a meet, I'll have two feeds, one for the main feed and then another where I just show a set shot- like at mile 1 then mile 2 and then the finish where you can see all of the runners come by. Parents want to see the #3,4,5, etc.
2) I agree with you Derrick is good. That being said, the commentators need to be more excited. There isn't really anything to look at during an xc race so show some excitement. I mean don't report a 25 second lead at 2 miles like it's a 2.5 seconds. Get pumped.
In terms of the race.
1) Oakley is amazing.Since she comes from soccer, I think it's safe to say she's not someone who is good due to delayed puberty or eating issues. Am I the only one who thinks that shuffle stried would be fantastic at 26.2?
2) FM Is amazing as well.
