With respect to the quote of the day and Letsrun's caption relating to it, do people think that an athlete's one time positive test for a substance should then strip them of all past accomplishments and even prize money?
Mourhit's past accomplishments may have been legitimate even though his entire career will be overshaddowed with his drug conviction. Since he has passed other EPO tests in the past, isn't it likely that his past performances were clean? Does it matter?
The attitude of Rojo and Wejo seems to be that once a cheat, always a cheat and that a one time conviction erases all past accomplishments. I do not necessarily disagree, however I think it possible that a once great athlete can see his or her career coming to a close as younger and faster competitors start to blow by, causing him or her to make a stupid decision regarding doping.
I was just wondering if the brothers Johnson or anyone else cared to comment further on this.
