Penn St will make the college football playoff

Washington v Colorado was not pretty. Washington loses the eye test.

Penn State v Wisconsin wasn't much better. Penn State would've been down 5 touchdowns to Alabama at half time.

Clemson wowed no one all season.

Anything can happen in January, but none of those 3 teams has a chance against Alabama from the way they played this weekend. Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma and USC are the only teams with a puncher's chance based on the little cfb I've watched.

The cfb committee is in a funny spot though. They made their bed with ranking Ohio State over TCU and FL St and TCU over Baylor in 2014. Do they have the cojones to reverse several of those precedents and skip Clemson, PSU and Wash to try to find a game for Alabama.

How many commenting here are from West of the Rockies? Probably not many. Too many of you have bought into the East coast/Midwest bias of the media.

I'm not a UofWash fan but I think it's amazing that anyone would consider Penn State ahead of UW. Penn St lost to unranked Pitt. UW lost to a good USC team which I would argue is playing the best football in the NCAA now (aside from Alabama but they are in a spot all to themselves).

And all this talk about the teams from the west being weak?

Colorado gave Michigan a good game and were ahead in the 3rd quarter until Liufau had to leave the game. But, no, according to the biased pundits Western Football is weak. Yet Washington beat Colorado 41-10 despite the fact that the WA qb had one of his worst games.

The weakest team in the top 4 is Clemson. The middle and bottom of the ACC is much worse than the pac12 or B1G. Clemson had a few close games against those teams and looked very average.

I could be OK with Penn St or Mich getting in ahead of Clemson, but it's not gonna happen. The media seems to love them.

U-dub is very good. Clemson is overrated. PSU should get in but won't and I don't feel bad for them.Their university choose football $$$$over the health and welfare of those involved in those incidents.

Mike Mcqueary did the right thing and has 12million reasons to be happy but all he ever wanted, to coach football he can no longer do.

IMO, this should be the Top 11:

1. Alabama (13-0)

2. Ohio State (11-1)

3. Washington (12-1)

4. Clemson (12-1) -- least dominant as well as having the worst loss among the 1-loss group

5. Oklahoma (10-2) -- tougher SOS of late than Penn State, and just as dominate

6. Penn State (11-2)

7. Michigan (10-2) -- two losses in 5 games

8. USC (9-3)

9. Florida State (9-3)

10. Wisconsin (10-3)

11. Colorado (10-3)

Rationale: Win-Loss record and how dominant teams have been over the last month or so, while accounting for SOS.

I think Ohio State and Washington are interchangeable at #2 and #3 - Ohio State for their OOC schedule, Washington for winning their conference and being more dominate against quality teams of late (though only because I'm not including Nebraska as a quality team). Doesn't really matter, though, because they would both face off in the Fiesta Bowl regardless.

Florida State over Wisconsin because FSU has been very good of late, only losing to Clemson by a FG while pounding Florida 31-13 while Wisconsin's biggest win of late was 31-17 over Minnesota and they lost to Penn State by a TD after blowing a big lead.

Peach Bowl: #1 Alabama vs. #4 Clemson

Fiesta Bowl: #2 Ohio State vs. #3 Washington

Rose Bowl: #6 Penn State vs. #8 USC

Actually, on second thought, I would probably have Oklahoma State at #11 and Colorado at #12. Interestingly, that would make the Alamo Bowl a match-up of two Top 12 teams.

I agree completely. UW dominated at the lines on both sides of the ball and beat Colo in more convincing fashion than Mich did w/an injured Sefo. No way is their schedule weaker than Clemson's, a team w/many near misses and the worst HOME loss to an unranked Pitt.

I was not impressed w/Clemson last night as their defense looked very weak. If anyone gets jumped, it should be them, but the committee could just decide to wipe their hands if it and take all of the teams w/less than two losses, though I think Mich, PSU, or OU would give Bama a better game.

Actually we have statistics and facts that show washingtons schedule is weaker than clemsons, MUCH weaker in fact. That pitt team that beat Clemson also beat penn state.

Michigan is better than UW and everyone knows it but the committee needed to put UW in to avoid alienating the entire western half of the country and losing out on ratings. The big 12 is too weak for OU to get credit for winning it, especially considering Ohio state blew them out at home.

Washington is better than penn state on offense and defense. Neither will/could give bama a game.

I'll make a bet: if psu or wisco wins by fewer than 50 points and still jumps into the playoff I'll never even open this website again and I'll post a video of myself saying whatever saying you want. I don't swing left so enough of the s my d stuff, I'm not a penn stater and it isn't happening.

Unless psu or wisco do something to make the committee feel like they are a better football team than they portray now, they won't jump. Adding a notch to the ole belt will not change anything unless the game suggests their team improved from when the current rankings were put out

I would like to see those stats & facts. I see a couple official rankings that have them pretty close, w/Clemson having a slight edge, but I would chalk that up to East coast bias. At least UW's only loss was to a top 8 team playing very well right now, while Clemson's was to an unranked opponent. UW had no problem winning their conf; Clemson was pushed, looking very weak on defense.

By the way, OU has played a schedule 3rd only to Alabama and Ohio State.

Easy choice. OSU.

If PSU had played Michigan close and didn't lose a close one to Pittsburgh, they're in. Or, if they blew out OSU. They didn't, and so they'll face a very good USC team in a very good bowl. Good opportunity for them to prove they belong, though I think USC should be favorites in that matchup.

Bump, cause all the peeps screaming mu shoulda been in the playoffs and all the osu faithfuls screaming that osu was much more deserving than psu for playoff spot; your teams suck and are making the b1g look bad. you're suspect.

It is a great day when Michigan and Ohio State lose. Now I cannot decide whether to root against PSU or the University of Spoiled Children.

0SU is appropriate here. Remember when everyone knew 0SU was a top four team, and that scUM should have been in over UW?
