Dude is a marathoner now. Probably will never break 13:05 again

Obvious answer - Chelimo
When will Ed Cheserek get USA Citizenship? I read he wanted it in time for the 2016 Olympic Trials, that did not happen, but he should go under 13 in the next 2-3 years.

This is most likely, I would be excited if Jager could do it. But that is way off.
There are many americans that are capable / could break 13:00.
actually doing it is quite another story.
Ryan Hill in 7:30 shape can easy go sub 13:00, next year probably
Evan Jager with his 3:32 speed and ( possible ) 7:57/58 3k steeplechase ability also. Will most likely focus on steeple so no sub 13 in 2017.
Paul Chemilo ran 13:03 in OS 2016 with a very fast last lap, in a well paced race 12:55 or even faster. ( 2017 )
Cheserek mabye, ran 13:18 but some time ago, next year when he is out of college seems a bit too soon. ( 2018 / 19 )
Ben True very close in 2014 with 13:02, depens on if he can get into a few fast races. Then mabye in 2017/18.
Chris Derrick is quite far of with his 13:08, not anytime soon if ever under 13.
Hassan Mead, could be a contender for sub 13:00, but don't think he will achieve it.
Eric Jenkins will do it in 2018, 7 secs is a big leap at this level.
Matthew Centrowitz does not have the endureance yet to get sub 13:00 but mabye in 2018/
That must be everyone, sorry if I forgot some runners.
Jager ran 13:02 in 2013, since then he has run 8:00 and 3:32, so im not sure why you think he is far off?
is it true????? wrote:

Chris Derrick?
Matt Centrowitz?
Patrick Tiernan?
Justyn Knight?
How was the Olympic Silver medalist left off this list?

Or just an oversight.
The last two are not Americans,
I think Ben True will break 13:00 first, the guy has a strength and finishing speed
Paul Chelimo is already in under 13 shape so he should do it next year
Hassan Mead, has a potential
Eric Jenkins has a potential to do but not next year may be after 2 years
Chris Derrick no, he will run better on the 10km, not enough speed
Ryan Hill, has a potential but he does not have the gut
Fresh out of college May be Futsum Z, may have a chance to break 13 after good couple years of training.
Matt Centrio, I do not think he will focus on the 5km.
But there is one person, who has the guts to do it, that person is EVan Jeggar, he will break 13 first next year

Because he tried and missed by a mile this year?
That's a pretty huge oversight to overlook the first American to win an Olympic medal in over 50 years.

You going to launch a full blown investigation? Let me know the results. Clown.
Maybe Eric Jenkins I'll say
Grant Fisher
Terry Varicelli seems like a good bet for me
In the past season he did 13:15/17, with his focus on the SC his 5k may suffer (but I hope not).
Skeeter Stephens

awfully tough for anyone to make a completely solo sub 13 attempt, and he STILL beat all of the americans in that race except for chelimo who outkicked him at the end. Plus it was at the end of a long and very successful season for him so he was likely fried both physically and mentally. I'm not saying he is the betting favorite (I would have to say chelimo in that regard), but to say he cant do it just because of Zurich this year is shortsighted and frankly idiotic.

According to his Instagram, Stephens already went sub 13 this year...
