He is just a little kid. He needs some guidance that he is not getting from adults in his life. This is not Kip, Rossi and Young level of crime.

Wow. This is not just cheating but actually a crime. Identity theft. And no, he isn't a silly kid, he is 18. Joe, please sue this scumbag!
Identity theft is not a joke, Jim! Millions of families suffer every year!
Objectively speaking, if this kid simply wanted to get some recognition as a runner, I'd say mission accomplished.
This kid has a problem.
Where are his parents?
Where is the coach?
Why are meets accepting his entry?
So many questions and no answers

True. One of the biggest problems in the social media age is the perception that any publicity, whether good or bad, makes you famous, and that fame is a good thing. Kids these days want to be famous, but fail to realize that achieving this goal makes it very difficult to ever have a private life.
The Don Draper quote, "I don't think about you at all," is often perceived as an insult, but such an attitude from the general public is one of life's greatest blessings. Once the public starts thinking about you, it can be difficult to stem the damage.

What if this was his main goal from the beginning? Get his little six seconds of fame, even if he'll be notorious.
It all makes sense now.
Just bumping this to remind everyone that there is at least one (probably more) other case of attempted cheating to the three he is getting press for:

Yeah, looks like he tried to sleaze in with a "2:10" but got caught out.
If he is paying kids to run for him, that is another level. I agree with those that say a politician in the making.

Bad behavior is rewarded in ENTERTAINMENT. Ryan Lochte = Dancing With The Stars. Notice USA Swimming banned him, but ABC did not.
Also, if we look at the splits from that 800 where he was caught, we can see that he has the fastest 400 split out of any male (made sure to check all age divisions since I wasn't sure if they were run separately or not).
So this kid somehow thought that, as the leader in the race, no one would notice him drop and then hop back in. If the leader of a race fades and drops, people notice. And they did hahah.
Seems like he made that realization but was unable to hide from the internet. Justice being served.

Couldn't be true. Brandon had nationals the next week and I did a 6x1000 workout with him that morning
Yeah I was on Brandon's team last year and I recall him doing his last hard work out before nationals that day. No way he could run a 4:38 mile the same day, just doesn't add up
The little cheating b.stard has removed his Facebook profile:
