Umm, you may have heard of the guy who has about a dozen XC titles, 5 & 10 WRs and ran 2:03?
But nice to see Derrick back in form!

And can't sprint. You can't be an all-purpose runner if you can't sprint.
I bet you can't sprint either.

Do you not understand my post? If Yao Ming had the nedessary endurance, then yes he could break 28 minutes in the 10k.
So you are saying that a guy that was 28 feet tall could break 22 minutes in the 10K?
So, I hate to be a party pooper, but why are these guys racing a track 10k in late November, and why does any result really matter at this point?
1. Secure World Championship berth(s) and/or qualifying time standard of 27:45.00
2. Secure Sponsorship time bonuses and/or contract extensions based on time performances (i.e., 27:45.00)
3. Improve Country and/or World Ranking
4. Improve Country and/or World Time Lists
5. Improve Personal Bests
6. Practice competitive racing.
Fair enough, I was dead wrong on him leading through seven laps. I guess I mixed up the rerun, which I knew he won.
And yes, I was there, so no need to freak out. I admit I was wrong. I also never contended that he was the best runner, miler or two miler in NJ that year. Those three were easily better than him. All I'm saying is, I am happy that he stuck with it and is getting the payouts finally. Too often HS studs drop the sport because of injury/stagnation. Same goes for Rosas and Elkaim- I wish them the best.

Although he certainly stagnated a bit the last year at Colorado, he was a bonafide STUD in high school. I think he went to an ACC school before transferring (UNC or Duke?)
Either way, he is the guy that was on 'track' to beat both Rosas at the State Meet of Champs in the 3200. On pace for something like 8:45 (?) through SEVEN laps when the officials literally blocked the finish line, preventing Pearson and the Rosas from finishing that last lap because of lightning. Idiotically, the lightning actually started before the race.
Ruined an absolute classic and what would have been a stunning time for Pearson.
They were actually on pace for closer to 8:40, assuming they kicked. They would have run 8:45, if they simply maintained the same pace.

But he can't have the necessary endurance, because of his height.

I meant early, I consider this the 2016-2017 season at this point, not 2015-2016.
That's a really dumb way of looking at a calendar.
Decent run by Bumbalough for 28:09. Good to see him healthy again.

Lol his dad is also a billionaire
his dad dropped off the billionaire list last year, http://www.forbes.com/profile/j-michael-pearson/

There is no such law. Height has nothing to do with endurance. Asbel Kiprop and Chris Derrick have more endurance than some people who are 5 feet tall. It is about the endurance not the height.
Ronald Kwemoi for gold in the London WC 5,000.
You heard it from Ruman!

why? There has been a fairly solid break of ~10 weeks (Brussels was the last DL meeting on 09 Sep) in the major international competition schedule. Derrick last ran a track race on 05 Aug (Sir Walter Miler) and any sort of competitive race on 18 Sep (USA 5K road champs), so with regards to his training he is likely more on the build-up to various races in 2017 (USA Cross is on 04 Feb) than peaking from fitness built over the summer.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
