Mo Farah missed two drug tests, lied about his training location, and lied about his relationship with Aden because he is clean.
The whole premise of the thread is stupid.
There have been lots of runners busted for drug use who were too slow to run world records.
I see your point, but you're confusing the definition of 'middle distance.' This generally refers to 800-5000, and if one had to pick only two events that represent the 'middle distances' it would be 800 and 1500.
The WR can't touch Mo because it's afraid of being tested positive.

Middle distance is 600m-2k (maybe 3k also). I agree that 800-1500 are the most representative. That wasn't my point though.
The point was that the distance track records 3k-10k are untouchable by anyone including Farah. The marathon was a weaker record and arguably still is than the 3k, 5k, 10k. Courses are not uniform, they can be changed to be faster etc. Less of the amazing track talents of the 90s really cared about the marathon also. Now there is a real effort to lower the marathon WR.

3:28 off a 49 second 400m runner yeah right.
Succinctly and well stated.

^This. Plus, no runner has ever run 12:35 in the 5000. Were all 5000 m runners clean?

Why you think there's wr's in the marathon but not track? Best runners aren't doing 5 and 10ks anymore
You sure? Since years, Bekele can't keep up with the current 5 and 10k runners, but he just ran the 2nd fastest marathon time of all times.
This suggests that the marathon WR is still weak, compared to the 5,000 m WR for example.
