gobble gobble MFer, amen.
I've got my camelbak full of spiced cranberry juice so I can run a super fast 42 minute 5k marathon AND get into the spirit of the holiday!
I ran a marathon last year around turkey trot season and decided to try using a fuel belt bottle filled with vfuel gels since i get GI issues with the race provided Gu. Didn't anticipate the gel being so cold that is started to solidify and i couldn't get it out of the fuel belt bottle. Bonked hard that day with no calories other than Gatorade.
Moral of the story...F fuel belts and turkey trot season.
I think the real moral of the story is you should have just clipped or pinned them. Then you don't have to wear a belt or carry anything, and the gels will pick up some warmth from your body so they won't freeze.
I've got my Make America Great Again hat ready to be turned backwards as I pound the pavement at hopefully under 7:00 miles sprint pace.

Don't forget to taper. I recommend going from 25 miles a week at 10 min/mile pace this week to 20 miles a week at 12 min/mile pace the week of the championship race. A 20% decrease in mileage might seem too much over 2 weeks but trust me, your legs will be fresh. You will be able to crack the elusive 30 minute 5k barrier. #PRs

WRONG!! You don't stop studying before a big test. You study MORE!! I started doing double track workouts, full out sprints, and weights and push ups. I'm going in 100%!

Thanks for the info! I just started training yesterday -- ran around the block almost twice and I was so sweaty lol -- but today I'll go sprint around the track.
Starting intervals next week. I'm gonna crush that 10K!
Plus, I'm using a ketone drink that means I burn the energy better all the time. The ketone magic drink means I'll be able to leave the fuel belt at home and hit a new PR.
Four whole weeks of training this year!
I've got my selfie stick, playlist for run, double fuel belt, underarmour gear, race day tech shirt on, and I'm not budging from the very front of the race line.
I actually am running a turkey trot 5k .. When is it appropriate to yell the "gobble gobble MFer"? is it when kicking for the win?
You don't kick for the win, you let 2nd place catch up to you in the last 50 yards, punch him in the face, and step over his motionless body, for the win.
GOBBLE EFFING GOBBLE!
The Cranberry Sauce Boss
After training for a whole three weeks of intervals twice a week, I think I am finally ready! For the week before the race I will be sprinting marathon repeats at the track three times a day followed by a couple hundred push-ups. This year I have really been trying to bulk up and I gained a whole 70 pounds of pure fat! I also heard that sugar really pumps you up for the race so I will be eating my seven year old daughters' Halloween stash! Hopefully I will be able to break the elusive 60 minute barrier on a tough grueling course of a rolling grass meadow. I am prepared with my selfie stick for social media inspiration mid-race. I also have my handy fanny pack filled with the latest gimmicks and scams.
Wish me luck!
I just updated my Facebook with a pic of my race vest, shorts, flats, oakleys, and finisher medals from last 3 years.
Don't forget to whip out the mushroom tip as you howl "GOBBLE GOBBLE MFERZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I just realized I put the wrong year for my day and signed up for the masters age group. Hope that doesn't mess up age group awards.

On my task list.
I've been practicing collapsing 10 meters from the finish line then crawling the rest of the way to the cheers of the multitudes.
Wow you guys are already training from 2 weeks out? I'm going to rest and prepare my playlist, then run 2 miles the day before to prepare. I'm hoping to break 33 minutes. The key is to line up at the very front.
