Also, I do not remember seeing two timing mats, i.e. one at 19.88 (or 32k) and one at 20 miles. As per the race information, there was supposed to be one at the 20-mile mark, and so this 32k split seems odd in that sense, too. To further clarify, there were some significant hills in the last couple of miles, and everyone I talked to mentioned slowing on them. I know I did. Hence, while Karsten was not right behind me, both of us would have to have been picking up the pace from 13.1 to the 20-mile mark when one accounts, mathematically, for some slowing at the hills.
