True dat. With proper training, taper, and recovery you get one realistic chance at a marathon pr every 5 months or so. Odds are good that one chance will be sabatoged by circumstances beyond your control. When that happens there are no mulligans or reset buttons. You just have to be patient and gear back up for the next one. And of course the race itself is a whole other test of patience, which so many people fail. Sorry outsiderunner. I know this is not what you want to hear, but it's the truth.
