Nothing wrong with starting conservatively for your first marathon.
Fading and hitting the wall miserably in your first race really put a damper on things and affect your perception of the distance.

2:25? Her marathon yesterday was already worth 2:25 under good conditions(Not to mention the abbreviated training of less than two months).
I would expect her to at least surpass Shalane's 2:21.
Bill Parcells once famously said you are what you record says you are. Thus, Molly is a 2:28 marathoner. She is a 2:28 marathoner with gobs of potential. But, she is, in the end, still a 2:28 marathoner. I am rooting her big time to be an elite marathoner. Hopefully, she will get there. But, alas, she currently is a 2:28 marathoner.
Love these posts. A simple quote from a coach about an athlete disintegrates to the leve of "You're a puppet"..."No, you are!!"
Leave the idiot stuff to the politicians.
Wait, this "minong" is an actual coach? Lmao. Thank god s/he's not my coach. I'm no Molly Huddle, but Molly Huddle wouldn't be Molly Huddle either if she was coached by a mouthbreathing halfwit like this minong person.
