If the machine is not a high limit machine that has an actual jackpot of $42 million the casino is not entitled to pay her out that amount. Most low dollar slots have a max jackpot of maybe $6 grand. There are some $5,000 a pull slot machines that don't event have anything close to a $42 million dollar jackpot. The only machine that could get remotely that high is mega bucks.
Also no reason to even give her $6,000 because the machine will have a notification code in the system if the jackpot has actually been triggered. Malfunctions happen all the time. Heck last week it happened to my wife and I and stated we hit the grand and I knew we did not because the grand is only hit if 15 orbs on the lightning link machine are present we had none the machine stated we hit the grand. I knew it was a malfunction no harm no fail.

Interesting. If a slot machine malfunctioned in the other direction and failed to pay winnings that it should have, can we assume that the casino would make an equal effort to correct the error?
