Diagnosed with a stress fracture and plantar facitus at the same time..
This is my senior year and I really want to break 18, states is coming up in 2 weeks.
Male. 17.
How can I conceal this from my coach, I know he won't let me run if he knows..

Just rent a wheelchair. Tell him it is your Halloween costume and that your family celebrates the entire two weeks of Halloween (as it should).
He can't question your religious beliefs. Problem solved.
So you want to turn a little stress fracture into something bigger? Enjoy that pain and longer recovery.
I figure its as bad as itll get, so why not just run?
Fvcking kids...
You are definately a moron
I was thinking of telling him I had some minor knee pain so I could lower the mileage a little- I just need to get through 2 weeks of training and I've only had the stress fracture for a month, so I think I'm alright, sometimes the pain is really bad and I actually have to walk, so I just claim im having stomach issues and have to sh*t
HOWTO?? wrote:

Your season is over OP. Starts planning the next 24 months.
I realize this is a troll BUT a stress fracture can turn in to a full blown fracture of the bone. So no, the injury is not "as bad as it'll get."

This is my last hs season and im slow so i wont run in college, isnt it worth the risk?
Think long term. If you love running, think long term and make a decision based on that. You'll be happier in your 20s, 30s, 40s...f it even 80s being able to enjoy running around.
No one cares about one season of high school. Unless you want to do it, and never run again. Which you'll regret. You know the right decision, which is to rest and get healthier/better.
Just wear long pants to hide your legs.
Stress fractures are about the worst injury you can get as a distance runner. Bone injuries are serious, suck, and take a long time to recover from. You're an idiot. Listen to your body
Some coaches will let an 18 flat runner on their team. Hell, at some schools that would be the best runner on the team. There are teams that doesn't have a single runner break 30 in the 8k. At my conference this weekend, some kid ran a 48 minute 8k. Don't screw yourself out of running for life by breaking more
No, it is not worth the risk. No one would care if it was only going to be a longer recovery of your leg. What if it gives way when you are running down a hill? You might end up diving down the hill and smashing your head into something like a tree and DYING or becoming even more of a vegetable.
Don't show up to practice or states
1) Wrap gauze on your forehead. If he asks you what's wrong tell him you have head problems.
2) Horse around with your teammates and crash into the coach, injuring him. He will be too pissed off to even look at you.
3) Eat beets as you would eat apples at the team meeting. Drool. Raise your hand and ask a question before you had completed chewing/ingesting. The visual of that will have a disturbing effect on the coach. He will leave you alone, trust me.
4) OK, now, why not try the smart thing and accept that injuries have their role to teach you something. Give them appropriate attention and you will come out fine. Hide them and you will kick yourself for the next 60 years.
I thought you were going to say something about an injury climbing a fence or getting into a fight or something non running related.
It doesn't work that way, moran
