Okay so last track season I ran 20 miles per week and I didn't do long runs. (and some workouts I heard of that I don't even do, that I hear are key workouts.) I've just been doing interval workouts like 12X400m (in 74 sec) with a 400m jog in between and little 20 minute runs. I think I can run faster times in my 5k and 3200m but it sucks that I can do my workouts really fast sometimes and not reach my goals in my meets. I dont think I've been doing the right workouts and I'm missing workouts I should be doing. (Yikes I know that's bad and I should know these workouts. Im so dumb.)
My times are 11:01 - 3200m
5:02 - 1600m
2:19 - 800m
17:50 - 5k
I've heard of tempos and fartleks....what workouts should I do?
