The national champ favorite ran much of the race with Alice Wright and Calli Thackery from UNM before dropping back at about 4K. Wright crushed the field and Peloquin faded to 4th.

Nice! I hope another "type" of runner wins Nationals! Rooting for Finn or Rohrer!!
Ihmels starting to look like a disaster as a coach. His mishandling of Emma Bates her senior year was one thing, but now it's looking like one failure after another.
In before all the overrecations
Yeah, man, 4th is terrible
And Ostrander only came 8th at the Olympic trials 5000. What a failure.
I watched both races. The BSU men looked very good, women seemed a little flat.
Oh... you mean that tiny girl who has been injured the majority of the last 10 months?

If you want to run mountain races you have to accept getting injuries.

Truth..... And if as a coach you are willing to let your athletes race in pointless summer races you have to accept wasting scholarships on injured runners.

It is terrible when you are a national title contender, get 4th in a relatively weak conference meet that you want to win and get beat by a no name (Air Force runner).

She could have gone anywhere. Maybe it was negotiated before she got to Boise

It was negotiated..... I have heard it is the only reason she went to Boise. The coach was the only one crazy enough to let her run her mountain race in the off season. So now he is stuck with a runner who could be really good or just as likely be a massive waste of a scholarship until she graduates.
Peloquin looked like she was sneezing on the course. Could be a short-term virus, we'll see....
Allie O has not been injured the majority of the last ten months
"He became the second Bronco in three years to win the men’s individual title, joining David Elliott in 2014.
Head coach Corey Ihmels was named Men’s Coach of the Year.
Uchikoshi, who finished nearly 10 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Jerrell Mock of Colorado State, was named the conference’s cross country Athlete of the Year."
