Just an FYI
It has been below avg temperature wise for most of october
Low 60s upper 50s for highs for most of the month with a few days around 70 back in the first week of October. Lots of rain too :). I would assume UW has had similar weather.
Not saying this did or didn't impact some teams, just giving temps. Clearly there was something going on with Maton as you don't go from 4th at Pre Nats to ~30th at conference. Could just be bad races all at once.. Don't think they were winning regardless of how folks raced but would have been much closer.
Nationals will be interesting but Oregon will have to pull out some good races to have a shot at the podium

Jonathan Gault wrote:Of course that's not what I'm saying. Runners go to Oregon because they see guys like Jenkins, Fleet, Greer, Geoghegan, Dunbar, Gregorek run fast and get pro contracts. Most professional runners are paid for what they can do on the track, not in cross country.
I don't like the rent-a-senior phenomenon.
Jenkins, Geoghegan and Gregorek were all developed elsewhere.
Dunbar was developed else where as well.
They may have developed elsewhere, but they were perfected at UO. Jenkins in particular would not have been the same athlete.

Is it possible Wetmore peaked his athletes for PAC 12s because he knows they don't have a shot at the podium at NCAAs?
Why do you assume you can't run more than one fast race a year?
i love our sport, and enjoy racing cross country more than any other form of running, but cross country season coverage is super boring. especially after an olympic summer, i totally understand why it's not popularall of the pre-meet speculation is worthless. XC is the sport where predictions are generally wrong. that's one thing that makes the sport cool, the chaos and unpredictability of it allp.s. Grant Fischer is really good

I'm not saying that I don't understand why it's not on tv, but I still find it a damn shame. Apologies for enjoying our sport.
Live results are nice, not the same.
Thanks again for the thread.

That's a great thought if you have an iq of 66.
Erin Finn with a dominating win at Big 10s!
BTN moved the camera off the finish as soon as the top 8 came through. That was great work.
Michigan first
PSU second
And MSU women fade over the last K for third
Top 6 teams
1 (63) Michigan 1 4 14 19 25 (35) (38)
2 (70) Penn State 3 7 10 23 27 (58) (65)
3 (80) Michigan State 5 9 17 21 28 (33) (39)
4 (120) Minnesota 8 11 20 40 41 (46) (57)
5 (130) Ohio State 13 15 26 34 42 (54) (60)
6 (128) Wisconsin 16 24 30 32 36 (47) (66)
Nice to see Tessa Barrett (Penn State) doing well and Sarah Disanza (Wisco) returning from injury. Congrats to Erin Finn!!!
Announcer on Wisconsin Men: "It was the Wisconsin men that owned this championship for several years." - Just a bit of an understatement....
It'll be really interesting to see if they can get it together. With McDonald and Schrobilgen having good days they have two solid low sticks.
Michigan kept Ben Flanagan out. This is a wide open race now.
8minutes in and it's super slow. No one wants to lead. MSU has packed their full top 7 in the front if that tells you anything. Field is running 7-8 guys wide.
3k in about 9:30
Michigan state leading with 26 points, good pack running
Sherod Hardt of MSU puts in a huge move at 5k to gap the field. McDonald slowly pulled back and is now right on his heels.
And as I'm right this he passes Hardt to take the lead
McDonald now with a huge gap and completely in control of this race.
Random note: Hardt is a RS-SR and mormon, so he's 25
McDonald will be the winner.
Announcers didn't put up team scores, but they said MSU is winning at 7k
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06

Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
