However, most likely they were quite affected by the 85 deg heat so expect both teams to rebound at West Regionals & NCAAs.
Re: question posted above about AZ State . . . they train in the cooler morning hours so they were a bit out of their element like everyone else . . but their team finish is not so surprising . . . placing probably reflects their talent level for this season.
Stanford men had lots of heat problems . . . see Keelan & Wharton as 8th & 9th men while Lauer DNFd . . . and word from the course is that Ratcliffe had some medical issues of his own following the race . . . so very likely McGorty's slight fade down the homestretch was heat related.
For pure speculation purposes, consider this . . . Fisher finished 11th at Pac-12s last year (in cool, rainy weather up in WA) . . . then finished 17th at NCAAs as Stanford's 3rd man and the first true-frosh American. . ..
