He needs to pick his head up when giving interviews. I realized I've had the same negative opinion of him for years, and I realized it's just because his posture in interviews makes him look smug or arrogant. No more of this slouching, crocked head stuff.
Actually, people that know him say that he is smug and arrogant.

Junior Varsity.
Doesn't make him a bad coach, but who is best person he has ever coached?
He looks a liltte retarded... a bit crazy.
Ben is a good man and our sport is lucky to have him.
maybe, but he's smug and arrogant
If you look at "team performance" they had a very good group represent at trials. 0nly behind NOP and Nike Portland (Shalane's group).
How many Olympians???
Now go home get your fvcking shinebox.
He is mimicking the posture of a famous smart guy, Stephen Hawking.
He is simply trying to motivate his team which is a good thing. How can anyone have a negative opinion of a guy like Ben who has dedicated his life to attempt to better professional distance running?
What's with the hats?

He is pushing the brand. Learned that with his time at Hansons.
If only they could've secured sponsorship with any other major brand.
I love what Hoka's doing in terms of investment in elite running, but they produce some of the dopiest looking shoes of all time.
Notice that virtually all their sponsored pros train in the Tracer (meant as a "racing flat," but really just an extraordinarily light trainer), or the Clayton and Clifton (the next best models in the Hoka line).

Nike says lol
Ben Rosario is not a great coach. He is just a guy who had some money that moved to Flagstaff and convinced some elite runners to come by paying them. Once they get in the program they know it is nothing special and leave.
I think you got it wrong. It sounds like he is talking about the sponsor, the Hoka brand, being an underdog in comparison to Nike, Brooks and one day over-taking them. Its strange because Ben is identifying completely w the aspirations of the sponsor, and the achievements of the athletes and the team are a non-factor. While Ben is a marketing genius, it does seem out of character. Maybe more context would help explain the dis-connect.
Is the post on the front page and this thread a paid advertisement?
Usually, they state that up front
You realize HOKA will be sold-off in about 2-3 years, right? They are owned by Deckers, which has quite the history of spin-offs.
