So sad. She will never be heard from again like the many before her.

It's a real shame Oregon hasn't produced any good track and field athletes. Can't believe an athlete would want to go to this program.

Ikr, like rupp and centro just to name two Oregon just destroyed what could have been great careers for them, they had medal potential at global championships too smh
Well, there is one positive of her going to such a well funded program as Oregon. At least now, we won't be asked to donate $10k to GoFundMe so her massage therapist can follow her to meets.
Actually I am surprised she is going out there all the way from Virginia, but Hunter had signed with them as well before turning pro. I don't see the tie, but those Elite Nike camps they have every summer and the Junior and Senior Trials have gotten her out there on more than a few occasions. I suppose that the place that Track Town USA has in attracting so many meets to Eugene doesn't hurt recruiting on both the incoming freshman and transfer side for the Ducks.
I know, and Hasay is a real world beater, same with Kosinski and Blood.

Don't see the tie? It's the most prestigious running college in the history of NCAA track. That's like asking why some basketball phenom from Vermont choosing to go to Duke or UNC.
Ben Dejarnette also attended Oregon and he was a VA HSer.
Actually I was trolling for someone to mention that she and Katie Rainsberger are bff's from the World Junior Champs. But yes Oregon is able to recruit nationally as do the basketball and football powers.
She and the other freshman can have a "Find Sara Baxter" scavenger hunt as a team building activity.

There is another school that has won over 40 national titles combined for Men's and Women's CC, Indoor, and Outdoor-just since the mid 80's. I think they, as proven winners, are just a little more "prestigious" if you want to talk about "history of NCAA track." Let's be careful about bestowing tooo much glory on the webfoots before they earn it...

Dork. There is not a high schooler in the country who thinks that Arkansas is a better place for distance runners than Oregon is.
So what advice would you people give someone who is thinking of going to UO and is top notch talent? Clearly there are varying opinions.
Look beyond your running career.
Congrats. Take my advice and block letsrun from your routine. No matter how well you do the naysayers will always be here. Just ask two time medalist Rupp....

I think Baxter's health issues and decline started before she arrived at Oregon.
I like her as a pro prospect better than Drew Hunter. (much more projectable)
I hope she goes pro this summer if her times are fast enough.

How long before she learns to spell?
She is "Super excited to be apart of the duck family..."
Pathetic.

False.
