Oregon has a reputation for reducing or eliminating scholarships.
This is why they are leaving.

Most college scholarships are a 1 year deal... now most coaches will give you the money you deserve, but that isn't always the case... I think many big school coaches see athletes as a business deal and if you're not getting the money you expect from your athlete you'll find someone who will... high pressure on the coaches and athletes... either you win or you get fired in some places... Oregon has probably the highest expectation level of any college program in the US... Just my two cents...
So...how long does Kate Murphy last before her scholarship is cut?

Yes, yes, we know women are quitters and crybabies, but the OP wants to know what specifically is it about Oregon that this is happening?
Not what he meant.

Unlike the girls mentioned in the OP's post, @trackmurph is incredibly savvy at building a brand for herself. She (along with fellow VA standout Rachel McArthur) are basically teen idols to literally thousands of girls.
UO knows that whichever school lands these girls and ones like them are gonna get some "cool" points.

A high school athlete building a brand... Sounds like her parents might have a heavy involvement. May not be such a good thing "branding" a teenage girl. May lead to lofty expectations from all angles.
Best of luck to her though.

Exactly true.
One of the transferring girls had her scholarship slashed because she did not score for the school in the NCAA Championships as a freshman!!!
Why would you accept a scholarship from a school that tells you this is what they expect or your scholarship is cut?

Because kids don't have much experience making big decisions they don't always make decisions based on what is best for them in the long term... mainly because they don't know exactly what is best for them yet.
And because running for Oregon sounds good to their peers.
Oregon is not unique in attaching expectations to scholarship money. Many of the top programs in D1 do the exact same thing. Some people blanch at the idea, but it's more common than you might know.
Whether it's permissible or proper would be the topic for another discussion.
One more example: Nate Moore, the top prep long and triple jumper in the US in 2014, made 2nd team All-American in both jumps for UO as a freshman in 2015, then made 1st team All-American in the triple indoors in 2016. He was told at the beginning of outdoor season that his scholarship was going to be cut for 2017. He is not on their roster this year- someone's going to be getting a serious stud.
Plus Eugene is a total crap town to live in compared to some other Pac 12 locations. Bottom 4 have to be:
9. Tuscon
10. Eugene
11. Corvalis
12. Pullman
Has the Pac-12 not moved to four year scholarship periods yet? I know many power 5 conferences have, making it harder and harder to cut/reduce someones scholarship
Someone brought up Nate Moore he was good with a PR of what 25 feet 7 inches so Oregon brought in a 26 foot 7 inch long jumper to replace him. :)
I find the University of Oregon track fans to be insufferable.
Backwoods bumpkins, really.
Why would one want to be sentenced to four years hard labor there?

Oregon fans may be bumpkins, but they show up at meets.
Other college track programs can't draw flies.
Bumpkins> flies

Any institution can offer a FOUR year NLI. Very few do, but I really appreciate those programs. Genuine commitment to a recruit!
