Very impressive. 50 second gap to second place. Crushed Mottram's Australian record.

Which would be even more relevant if he wasn't from New Zealand.
Yo're absolutely right. Meant to say AR record for Oceania, which stood at 27:54 before.
Will Mottram go down as the most doped runner in history after Paula Radcliffe? Damn.

Hardly. He's got bekele, el g, Gebreselassie, morceli, and lagat to get past.
How about Daniel Komen, maybe that's why he got out so quick. Do you think every good runner is doped?

Komen was clearly doped. Not sure why you would even question it.
Great run Zane - awesome run, but you mentioned on your Instagram post that you were the fastest non-african over 10km.. unfortunately that honor goes to a guy living 40km out of Hamilton by the name of Jon Brown.. there's a couple of other non-africans ahead of you on the list too, but you are #4 - which is still awesome.

Yes, that is what I think. This is the rule: Faster than me? Cheater. Slower than me? Loser.

Thanks for the thread. Zane did 27:33 in Rio after 5 weeks training. I thought he could go 27:15-20 with longer training. I'm shocked that he nearly did this on roads.

Ben Johnson, Mo Greene, Marion Jones, Boulami, Wolde, Dieter, Skah, Hissou. Tergat. Makhloufi. Pretty much any North African since 1972.

2:06 is pretty impressive, he has already gone 59 mins for the half. I doubt he could do any of the shorter distances at those speeds though.

This is the equivalent of anything from 27:03 to 27.18 on the track, probably about 27:13. Which is pretty quick for a white guy.
I have to wonder about the course in that Pittsburgh race in 1995. 5 guys, including Jon Brown at 27:18 or better in one race in that era?
Mark Nenow ran 27:22 in 1984 ... 32.5 years ago.
