Women's projection dropping 9 seconds every km, Kiplagat made a huge surge. If this keeps up sub 2:20 could happen

They are on 2:13:33 pace. They'll definitely run 2:12. Coudl they possibly run 2:11 is my question? You'd need a 30 flat last 10k. Thye'd better get going.
Maybe so.
21st mile 4:43!!!
Lonyangata dropped during mile 22. It's Chumba, Kipketer and Kirui up front, which isn't that surprising as those three have looked the most comfortable throughout the race.

Why? No one would let Ryan Hall run away with it. They'd use himi as a rabbit.
Unless he ran it like he did the 07 trials and let others lead the race til he took off midway.
I've heard them say this multiple times but I'm confused - Sambu isn't American, right? He's still running for Kenya I thought. They've referred to him as an American multiple times.

Correct. Sambu is Kenyan, not American.
5th place pays $25,000. 6th place pays nothing. So that 2nd pack will be interesting.
Looks like last 10k could be near 30 flat.

Of course they run sub 30:00 now that they are running. 30:00 is only 2:06 pace.
Here is what I posted a few minutes ago:

Let's predict the last 10k (20 miles to the finish) for the men's race.
I wonder if Kipchoge could run 28:00 off this pace. Probably not but I would like to see him try and do it.
If they start at 20, let's see a sub 29...
Todd WIlliams is tryign to figure out who looks the best. To me, it's clearly CHumba.
They need me on there. I'd be talking about can they break 2:12 with a sick last 10k.
This "race" is sad.
Tim Hutchings just said that Chumba told him he thinks he's in 2:04 shape.
They are going to break 30 for the last 10km.

If so and he wins, like I said on page 1 of this thread, easiest $100k he's ever made.
