100k is walking pace, not even worthy of this conversation.
He was world champion with that walking pace (6:14 min/mi or 3:53 min/km). You couldn't even run 100k a minute a mile slower than that. I challenge you to run a 100k at 7:14 min/mi (4:30 min/km) and post a link to the results here. That's 7.5h for 100k. You won't do it because you can't even walk a minute per mile slower than Max King.
100k is not a running sport but slogfest. Claiming King "best range ever" is faulty not because he's "great" at slow, long contrived events but instead because he's slow at actual fast events.
