There was some highly questionable mile marking going on as well - I was recording splits of around 5.30 - 5.40, then mile 9 this dropped to 5.12, then down to 5.10 at mile 10. I've so far avoided talking about this in my posts as I don't think this is strong enough evidence to say the course was short.
However I have explained in great detail how they changed the course, removing more distance then they added, which is the actual cause of the short course. The GPS recordings of runners was the warning sign If you like, the satellite mapping is hard evidence. I will happily accept GPS recordings are inaccurate.
Remember If they are keeping quiet the course alterations, they can use their measurement certificate from the "old" course to suggest their race was the correct distance.
Here's a brief recap of all the evidence:
-0.13 mile deficit between distance added at Pollok Park, and distance removed at Festival Park. (suggests 0.13 miles short)
-End to end satellite mapping of the altered route suggests it's 0.101 miles short:
-Front of the field records GPS distance of 20.9km. (NOT hard evidence in itself, but in agreement with all the other evidence)
