Discus.
He definitely has a chance of defeating Mo in the 10,000.
But first he would have to be selected for the Ethiopian team. Bekele hasn't made an Ethiopian team since 2012, though he tried mightily in 2013. In other words, the Ethiopian athletic federation itself doesn't think Bekele can be effective on the track any more.

The VDOT calculation is clearly pretty bad for 5k and 10k. Are we really to believe that 26:40 is equivalent to the 1500 and mile records, and better than the marathon record? Also, a 7:20 3k is only equivalent to a 12:48? Riiiight. I guess Komen or Bekele should have just run a 7:13 3k (VDOT "equivalent" to 12:37).

But, to answer your question, I think Bekele's 11 world cross country golds, 5 world golds, and 3 olympic golds already added legitimacy to his career, just in case 12:37 and 26:17 don't seem "good" enough.

Lol. Peak Kenenisa was apparently worth 3 seconds better than 1500 record, 4 seconds better than mile record, 6 seconds better than 3k record, 2 minutes better than the current marathon record, and 39 seconds better than the current half marathon record. I guess he still needs to take a couple minutes off that marathon time still. :P

Give him time, he will surprise you.
Expect great things.

Haven't they proved that the long term effects of some drugs stay in your system for years?
Not sure which ones off the top of my head, but one of the arguments levelled at Gatlin is that he is able to still run at the same level he did when doping because of the long term effects of the drugs he was using a lot of earlier in his career!
This is muscle memory, they claimed about two or so years back that having platelet rich plasma infusions with surgery actually made you stronger then pre-injury. The same for testosterone, ever notice guys in there mid-20s who run say 10.25-say for 100m who never qualify for any major champs all of a sudden jump to 9.89-94 in one year but then never improve? Because athletes in the wilderness aren't tested, but afterwards they are subject to out of competition testing.
I heard somewhere that in order to fool the epo detection in these tests all one need do is go on all night bender, the alcohol messes with the sensitivity. Anyone have any other info?
Berkele strikes me as a great runner who has benefitted from PED's.

No.
"Micro💉💊... " I love it! Where do you get those?
Mo most definitely can't touch Bekele, who owned Farah at the Great North Run a couple of years ago, and whose WR's no one's approached in a decade. Mo likes to complain about a lack of pacers to run fast. For extended portions in both of his WR 5k & 10k races, Bekele was solo...no assistance at all. Bekele is the greatest.

You are very, very, very, very, very, very correct.
The 2:03:03 marathon... is Kenenisa Bekele at only 80% to 90% of his total capacity…which is an infinite capacity anyway.
We should have the LRC math experts... do the math…to see how fast Kenenisa Bekele can run at 100%…(of his infinite capacity).
Please show us your calculations…LRC math experts.
I am looking forward to the results.
Looking at how hard he finished at the very end, man he could've had the WR for sure if he had just started his kick a bit sooner. Hopefully we get Bekele and Kipchoge gunning it all the way to the line in London.
