After Berlin he's certainly inched his way closer to Mo.

How??? Bekele won BOTH xc races for like 5 consecutive years. What has Geb done to compare to that in the half marathon?

Seriously. That has to be one of the stupidest things said on here in a while. He did win both the long and the short races for five consecutive years and he won the long race in 2008.

Bekele >>>>>>> Mobot

Will he defeat Farah in the WC 10k next year?
Discus.
He definitely has a chance of defeating Mo in the 10,000.
As for your second point, I can't see him making much impact in the discus. He needs to bulk up massively first of all. Does he even have any background in the event? I know the Kenyans have a top javelin thrower now, but I can't see a similar breakthrough from the Ethiopians in the discus yet.

No, he is too inconsistent over the marathon, and also fails to produce any marathon WR as did Geb. Thus, Geb is still the GOAT, sorry about that.
Exactly how consistent was Geb over the marathon?
For real, Mo was just an also ran so deep in the shadow of KB's glory that nobody outside of Britain (and probably not many in) knew who he was. Then KB started getting injured in 2010. If KB wasn't injured most of the last 6 years, Mo wouldn't have a single gold to his name. And he still doesn't have a single WR, not even close, and never will. And he'll never run as fast as KB just did today. And he never did anything in XC. Mo is a boy compared to KB.
And Bekele looks like a normal, healthy, fit, thin elite runner. Farah looks like skin over a skeleton--not healthy at all--too many thinning supplements.

Half marathon record doesn't matter. Has KB even run a sub hour half (i.e. a fast effort)?
Half marathon success of Geb just about cancels out KB's XC.
So in terms of road and track:
KB surely has track due to WRs and 8 outdoor titles vs Haile's 6
Only question is road. Surely it is ambiguous enough to say track gives him GOAT? Even so, I think KB can argue for road:
1st in Berlin (admittedly Olympic year...)
1st in Paris
3rd in London which was a talent supercollider off no training
Great North Run
2:05 low debut
Far superior time
I was a little in doubt before, but now I see the light.
All hail King Ken, distance GOAT!
KB's HM best is listed as 1:02:12. He just beat that twice.
His performance today has no effect on the legitimacy of his world records.

When he stomped Mo out at the Great North Run, right?

GNR isn't record eligible but how can a fan of track not know about it?! Bah.
