I think you're forgetting that if McGorty and Fisher place higher then BYU's top 5 all add 2 points each man, same for Syracuse except 8 points if Knight still finished 1st
I think McGorty and Fisher could have easily gone 2-3 or maybe McGorty beats out Knight for the win, so looking at it, Stanford should be feeling pretty good right now. Syracuse on the hard should be pretty worried, their #2 from last year had a ok result, their #3 was good, but #4/#5 weren't and that's what's going to hurt them the most, one of their top guys dropped out after 2k
With Stanford they still haven't raced Ostberg too, if Keelan can get back into his 23:20's form from last year, and Wharton or Miller or Lauer will come through right with him for that 4th-5th man they're going to be hard to beat
