Lance Armstrong on Lance Armstrong's running ability

He's not a runner, therefore he might not know exactly how easy 5 flat would be for him.

having read that lance armstrong quote for teh first time about 20 seconds ago, i can with utmost confidence that HE IS JOKING AROUND.

Lance was deff joking around. If u knew anything then ud know when he was a kid he was some prodigy in the triathalon doing absurd times. If he was that good at a triathalon which includes how much running im pretty sure hed have to have the running ability to go under 5 easy.

Look up the definition of "sarcasm". Lance has run three sub five minute miles (5k) in a row AFTER swimming 1/2 mile and biking 15 miles. This was in a triathlon when he was a teen. He could probably run under 4 minutes.

I don't know where your getting this info.....but...

im sure lance has run more than one five minute mile in his earlier triathlon days, seeing how he won the sprint National Championships at 18....see videa a few threds down

dude...go watch the video of lance running the 5k leg of his triathlon... he's probably hitting close to 16:00 pace there. AFTER SWIMMING AND CYCLING.

Maybe I'm ignorant or wasn't paying attention but I don't remember watching any triathalons on tv where the men were running sub 5 minute pace.

It always seemed like mid to low 5 minute range.

Lance was clipping along in that video posted previously but it doesn't look like sub fives.

It was a big deal when Lance broke 20 or 21 a couple of years ago and he's lighter and wirier now and has got a bigger "engine".

Dunno how many triathlons you have watched on TV (considering you mispelled triathlon I assume not many).

5min Mile pace is 31min 10km pace. These days world class triathletes run 30:00-30:30 off the bike.

I should clarify that's on a flat drag-stripe like course.

yeah wasn't he pretty good. I think he was a pro in his tri days. Meaning he made money off it.

going back to the original point, he could run a 5 min mile. even if he was going 20 mins for his triathalon 5k's, thats still 3 MILES. we are talking about 1 MILE. he bikes hundreeds of miles a week and has an arobic compacity none of us will ever touch. i think a few laps at 75 pace is relatively reasonable......

I would comment that his times are never given and I question the distances on triathlon courses. There is no rule that the courses be certified--to some extent as long as everyone is running the same course it does not matter a lot on one level.
