Too many questions about this online.
She didn't really declare her plans publicly in advance which is required for a FKT.
She did a yoyo which should've left her worn down before attempting the FKT.
She only averaged 33 mpd the first 8 days and then took a zero on a rainy day.
She had to average over 54 miles a day the last 10 days.
Besides the 2190 miles of the trail, she would've had to hike off trail to refuel and resupply since she was doing it self-supported.
She didn't wear a SPOT device, which Anish did.
And of course, it's for charity.
She it it for the girls, that makes it legit.
And she doesn't do well with attention:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZoW5PVvNmQShe needs to get (back?) on her meds. Sad.
Zoom in on her FB photos from the AT. according to the ulist. def. Photoshop. This one is so obvious, I'll just sit back and watch it blow up.

All we need now is a lady in a bunny suit, an axe-wielding psychopath in Kansas, and a crack whore wondering down a street at midnight. And the AARP to set up camp chairs and observe.
And an IHOP waitress named Blanche.

Checked her profile picture. Looks like some pixelization around her on that photo. Surely someone with expertise can make a definitive conclusion..but looks questionable to my untrained eye.
http://imgur.com/gallery/8Et1GAlso it's 2016, how on earth is she posting pictures with that low of quality.

It was taken from a distance, I zoomed in about 5X.
Honest question. If she did this hike to raise awareness of sexual assault, of which she had been a victim, why is her standard hiking pose in her public pics a shot of her back topless while taking off her bra? Seems like that's almost inviting sexual aggression.
And before I get flamed for asking that question, no, even if a girl strips down buck naked, that's doesn't excuse sexual assault. But it seems odd to post sexually provocative pics when trying to promote the issue of sexual assault.
So here's what I don't get. How could she have beaten the record when my FKT of the AT is only 10 days?? Huh? I did it in ten days. All by my lonesome. I didn't carry any kind of tracking device. I didn't know that you had to. I met some people along the way who gave me everything I needed(not RIDES!!!). I'm sure they'll vouch for me. I also don't like attention at all. So I didn't say anything but yeah. I did it in 10 days.
Hikers are breaking down the alleged miles per day on p. 4 of this forum:

Three consecutive days of 68, 68, 75 don't look legit on the AT.
How often do you cross roads on the AT as places where you can hitch a ride? And can you hitch a ride to skip 30 or 40 miles of trail? I guess you could, but did she have an accomplice?

Well, if you time it right, sometimes in the parking lot of a Golden Corral or a Walmart, you can find an abandoned RV...
Karl is going to just have to shake his head at this. If he challenges her, she will unleash all the bile of her SJW pals against "The Patriarchy".
The question is how Heather "Anish" Anderson reacts. She had some mild criticism for her lack of documentation, but at least backed herself up by getting the PCT record. Now along comes this basket case with absolutely no verification, and no prior record of achievement, and who obviously has deep issues and who is easily "triggered" by any form of criticism, all while inviting it.

I'll hold off with my thoughts about her character, integrity, etc.
With that said, there is almost no chance that she legitimately accomplished this.
If she did it unsupported and as a yo-yo and unplanned who and how was this video produced two weeks ago saying she was shooting for
yeah, no, no. NO.
If she did it unsupported and as a yo-yo and unplanned who and how was this video produced two weeks ago saying she was shooting for 54 days?
That first video opens with: "Are you paying attention?" (to Kaiha, of course) "A hero is among us".....Good lord. Poor Karl to have this psycho trying s desperately to hijack and steal his dream.

Heather “Anish†Anderson did respond to our email, as Bertollini said she did to her email as well:
"I don’t know anything about her, so I can’t really comment on the authenticity of her claims. However, it would be quite an incredible feat to hike the AT unsupported in a faster time than Karl Meltzer’s current supported time (45 days 22 hours). GPS documentation is pretty essential for situations like this."
